If you want to sign up for this prize draw send me an email with your request to be included in the prize draw. I pick one person each month to receive a reading. I will occasionally send an email to the list updating you of my services etc..

This month’s single card reading is from the Llewellyn deck and is the 4 cups. It shows a young woman looking at the ground sitting at the bottom of a old tree. Three cups in front of her and 1 hanging from the tree. There is a river flowing in front of her the 3 cups are on the other side of the river.

The three cups on the other side of the river are like those things we kind of want but have given up trying to get they are not far away but out of reach enough and we feel tired and exhausted. We hold ourselves inwards and don’t take any further steps out into the world – we are safe in so many ways – just not very happy. This card is very much about being in a place of safety and this safe place becoming a trap. We start to fear risking something new as where we are is OK. OK, but not ideal. We don’t notice the passing of time in the form f the river, nor do we see that the old and wise wisdom of the tree holds something for us – something we can reach for if we simply stand up and see it.

There is no hurry in a sense – the opportunity is not about to be taken away so we can allow ourselves to sit for as long as it takes us to pluck up the courage to see things from another perspective and take the opportunities that this brings. However if we sit forever then forever time ticks on and we don’t really feel fulfilled or excited by life – it becomes like simply existing.

So in June it is time to start asking yourself whether the comfort you feel is actually worth risking in order to feel more joy, excitement and passion in life. Is there a risk you need to take that actually honours yourself more. Sometimes we see this in our relationships – particularly long term ones – where we are happy enough together that we let little things go and say “its ok I didn’t get to do what I wanted on this occasion – my partner is happy – next time!” But we have said this over and over through the years and it builds up – did the ‘what you wanted’ actually happen or has it become a pattern to avoid conflict by letting the other get what they want?

It is also seen in our relationships with our children when we sacrifice our needs for theirs and forget to make time for our own. Ultimately it leads us to feel down and sometimes resentful and often we don’t even know why.

So take the opportunity in June to do what you want – stand for yourself, allow a little conflict in your relationships in order to honour yourself as much as you have the other.

You may find you have been wanting to meet new people but the routines of being at home have been comforting and tempting you out of taking the risk to reach out to new people, the nerves of the unknown and what might happen holding you back.

Allow the wisdom of the tree that offers you an opportunity – perhaps something from the past you would like to rekindle, perhaps something new that is very solid and actually reliable. All you need to do is stand up and look around to find the opportunity. It is not hidden, except by your assumption it can’t be possible for you. Allow all possibilities and take that first small risky step – things can seem much brighter once you have seen how you have held yourself back.

In business and the work arena the story is the same – perhaps you are thinking of leaving your job but haven’t yet asked for what you ideally want from your current position. Perhaps you feel there is nothing out there. Allow yourself to have an open mind – what if what you want is just there waiting for you? perhaps your boss is happy to give you the pay rise, perhaps the combination of hours and responsibilities is actually completely possible once you ask. Take that step and make it happen – give the universe a chance to offer you exactly what you want.

The trunk of the tree supports you – your own wisdom and experience gained over the years supports you, actually you have created this opportunity yourself you simply need to take it and recognise things are different now to when you made the decision to be happy where you are, as the times change so do the potentials.

Emotionally you may have been holding back your feelings for fear of where they lead but emotions are not good in a static stable place – they are happier when they flow like the river. So allow your feelings out -it is safe to now and they can flow through you and inform you of your next steps once you hear and release what you have been afraid of feeling. You prevent their stagnation holding you up and you allow your passion a place once again in your life. Often the changes needed are less radical than we fear with this card, simply we need a little courage and some small steps and everything starts to move again.

So stand up, trust, go forward, life is offering you just what you need, have courage and faith!

January 2015 and the year ahead

The reading for January and also for the year ahead if from the Llewellyn Deck. I have decided to post about 2 cards this time one for the month of Jan and one for the year as a whole and I see we have a lovely energy for 2015 and make a great start in January with a successful breakthrough.

January is 6 Wands. This depicts a warrior returning from battle as the victor, he sits upon his horse in a very upright manner and holds his head high, the challenge behind him has been over come and left him feeling strong and secure. Ready to celebrate the victory.

So in January you see a further release from challenge, this process started back in October last year and when through a preparation phase in November to then really start working through December. Things that have been holding you back for much time in the past are continuing to release you into freedom – you may feel a need to continue seeing yourself, your impulses and actions in a positive light and continue to have the courage to hold your head high, rather than to slip back into old traps from the past. Not that your past is being evokjed this month, but that habit could tempt you to slip. Remember things have changed and it is not like it used to be – you have won the battle – you need not feel you have a continued fight on your hand – you just need to assume that walking in the direction of your passions will lead you to better and better things, not down an old worn path as you occasionally fear.

It is a month to think positively about events and happenings in your life – not because the power of positive thinking makes difficult things go away magically, but because many of the things you think could be difficulties are not in fact – the greatest difficulty will be the courage to assume the best will happen and trust that thinking positively will not jinx events in some way.

Trust in yourself – you know deep down you have only highest goals in mind – this month you can trust this, and assume others can see this in you and any perceived conflict is simply each person expressing their own individual freedom. As you can accept you have this freedom of choice and to act on your desires in a wholesome way – so it is easy to allow others this freedom too and promotes harmony for all.

So be self confident and self assured, walk tall and hold to your own personal power. The feeling of stability and acceptance will ripple out to all others around you and help them experience the same feelings about themselves. Arrogance is lost as you no longer feel it is only you – but you share your positive view of yourself in your extension towards others – seeing them as deserving and being as good and as worthy as you feel you are yourself. There is no selfishness in your stance. In fact any wobbles of confidence you feel are not as the result of others undermining you – but of your own self denigration from habit, rather than reality. As you remember this as soon as you feel a judgement of another come upon you know that this is simply what you are saying to yourself and can be dropped. The instance you let go of it your view of another returns to loving, compassion, and your own freedom of choice to act also returns quickly.

So do what you need and want to do, don’t feel beholden to others, nor fear being selfish. Love and compassion grows within you as you drop old battles and walk forward confident refreshed and strong. Challenges are easily over come this month  and others look to you for leadership, and you given empowerment as you leading method.

3 Cups From Llewelly tarot -

This is a great start to a year that promises social connection with true friends as its main theme. We have 3 cups as the card for the year as a whole and this is a strong card of friendship and joy. Often connected to celebration also, but in a wholesome, deep way rather than simply hedonistic pleasure. On the card there is a full moon celebration depicted with 3 women being out in nature celebrating the turn of each cycle of the moon as the year unfolds. So too regularly through the year ahead you will find yourself gathered with friends and close family to celebrate. Also to constantly remember to renew yourselves. You may decide to commit to some regular meeting with like minds in this year and allow these meetings to be places to share what has been happening as a way of letting go of the recent past to bring yourselves into the present more and more. As you no longer create stories that define you, so you are free to move into whatever your soul inspires you to in the present moment. Your experience of living becomes more and more connected to the current moment and less and less a reaction to past events and situations – the deep past becomes completely clear and the more recent past isn’t carried with you.

From this comes the ability to celebrate each moment of our lives anew. The celebration with others helps us also stay aware of the differences we each experience in our life paths and how each person uniquely has something to offer the world. There is no need for us to be the same or see things the same way – but as we witness each other we both teach and learn at the same time and share our increasing joy together. Joy is a key feeling and experience in the year ahead, it stays in reach by our willingness to be in the moment and to release the difficulties of the past.

By our awareness of natures cycles we come to see and understand our own and so become less attached to our emotional experiences – the everyday up’s and downs of life become something we experience, but also observe. Our identity becomes increasingly associated with the observer and so we find ourselve more detached from the everyday turning of the wheel and are in our center more and more often.

So seek out chances to connect with others in loving exchange, to socialise and be with others who simply accept you for who you are, whatever you are experiencing at the time. And focus on constant release of the old, and embracing the new fresh day as the year progresses.

On a mundane level you might find that you have a close circle of friends and or family around you who are supportive of you in all your goals. Your may also find you are invited to social events more this year than usual, which are enriching experiences. Your circle of friends may widen and connections with people you already know deepen.

Celebrating the darkness within as well as the light as all part of what makes us unique and also connected. Our difficulties can bring us together as much as our joys.

Through these connecting energies this year we grow organically and from impulses deep in our soul. There is no rush or striving needed, just the need to allow space, time, and nourishment of our dreams. They will then grow naturally of their own accord.

Happy New year to you all – the year promises joy and friendship, happiness and release from struggle – your hard work has paid off.

4 Swords – Llewellyn

This months card is 4 swords.

We see here a woman asleep and resting peacefully, there is a feel of her being protected from the harsh realities of life by both the mosquito netting and also the loyal dog resting beside her. If we look to the tree in the background we get a sense of the struggles she has been through to get to her current state of growth and how she has had to twist and turn in order to survive and reach out for nourishment.

Applying this to the month ahead, we have been struggling with internal issues in the last month and now it is a time to take a break – the work is not yet over and there will be more to do but it is safe to rest up and gain some recuperation. It is possible if you continue to push forward then minor illnesses, coughs and colds will assist in your taking time out from your usual routines and work. So to prevent this take time before you feel you actually need it and focus on getting good rest at night.

As we rest we begin to dream, this serves to rejuvenate our energies and to help us make sense of changes that we have been making in our lives or that our lives have been presenting to us. Allow time for your inner world to catch up with external changes. We also have to be aware that the peacefulness we are likely to experience in July will be temporary, as taster for what is to come ultimately, but actually just a period of respite before we continue with the hard work of  manifesting our dreams, our ambitions and our highest potentials. So enjoy this month’s time out and allow yourself to take space.

It maybe you need to compromise to achieve this, but do not let this worry you – you will be able to get back on the fully authentic path once you have rested. Issues you may have been fighting for in work or your personal life may reach a compromise that suits everyone for now and allows things to move forward, the deeper issues to be re-assessed at a later date when more is known and can be demonstrated.

Within relationships we let things lie, with the awareness that we are extending ourselves for the sake of peace, and that we are not losing sight of our true selves nor our own personal life paths in doing this. Being accommodating shows goodwill and helps relationships find a more satisfying place to be in the long term.

It is not a good time for long term decision making as actually you can not see the whole picture right now, there can be a veil over the truth of things, and some difficulty in finding out the full story. Allow things to rest, make only temporary decisions and return to the issue in a month or two when the fog has lifted and energy is renewed.

It is a good month for allowing your creativity to have a free reign without being at all precious about what is actually produced. Allowing ones fantasies to have a voice and to enjoy ones own thoughts brings a release from the tension of trying hard to stay grounded. It is safe to let go into the world of imagination this month as long as you do so with awareness that much of what you see, feel and think will not be the complete story, however it will be a story and one you can enjoy that can inform your of your true desires in the future.

Retreat from struggle and perfectionism this month in all areas of your life – see it all as good enough – including yourself and take a break. Know you are safe and nothing will fall apart as you do this, you will simply renew yourself ready with passionate energy for the next steps in the future.

Page of Pentacles

This month’s reading is a card from the Llewellyn deck which features mythology from Wales.

page of pentacles

The card is the Page of Pentacles and there is the indication of success materially and the feel of being able to do projects and activities through December that you have great passion for. On one level you may find you see the job you have always wanted and start working towards being able to gain employment in that area. It may be on a more internal level where you consider your inner abundance and wealth and start to more fully value your true worth – this is likely then to have positive external effects for you, however the month might see those inner shifts happen and the external mirror may be as the new year starts.

It is worth asking yourself as December gets underway, what is my passion and how can I use this passion to serve the world. You might allow the festive season to help you get in touch with this as you allow yourself to relax more than usual and in much the same way that we gain our best ideas when relaxing in the bath, so a period of celebration and relaxing the striving in our lives helps us gain inspiration about where we want to go next. .

You might find your self in a position where you have achieved a great deal already and perhaps you wish to make a start on something completely new that requires and investment of some kind – financially or timewise. As you consider this you will likely find you have more resources than you at first thought.

Another aspect of this card is that as a court card it can be seen as someone other than ourselves. As a page we have the age of a child. Possibly you might find great satisfaction this month in your connections with children. Seeing the magic of Christmas and Solstice through their eyes allows us to regain the magic and wonder in life again and reconnect with our own magical child within.

It maybe that you find this time of year challenging, this month you have the opportunity to listen to what you inner child really wants from you and to set in motion activities and plans that will enable the best chance to attain these experiences. You might decide to take a trip over the holiday break for instance to break a pattern of over giving through the Christmas period, or you might decide to gather with friends you have lost touch with over time  and renew your connection. Or you simply may decide to be more present in each moment, and witness yourself and your reactions with more love and compassion than you have before.  This month shows an opportunity to feel safe and happy within your own skin if you allow your true passions to be expressed firstly to yourself, and then possibly to others.

It is through all these activities we see increased confidence in ourselves and ready ourselves for a practical new beginning of some sort – as the month comes to a close we start to think about what we want to manifest in the new year again. What activities we want to let go of and what new things we want to bring in and create our lives with. Take some time this month to consider this in advance and allow the New Year to bring a new start to your life where you have adjusted what is out of balance and have aligned yourself to be closer to your dream life each moment.

Have a wonderful joyous season ahead. Use your joy to understand how to create more in the year to come. You can build the world you want.

Blessings to you all.
